Information about the Service
The service comes without a modem but we can provide a Wifi modem/router for $169.00 plus $22 for delivery and handling. CBIT will provide up to 15mins of telephone and email support for initial setup at no cost. Additional technical support, including onsite work, will be charged at $110 per hour in 15min increments. Onsite support, if required, is subject to availability. The minimum term for CBIT’s ADSL is 24 months. CBIT’s ADSL is not available in some areas or, in some cases, if you are on the Optus network. CBIT’s ADSL2+ broadband plan has a possible speed of 20Mbps down and 1Mbps up. However this is the possible speed and in most circumstances, will be significantly less than this. The actual speed will vary depending on the length of the copper wire from the your location to the DSL enabled exchange, the quality of the copper line between your location and the DSL enabled exchange, the DSL profile applied by CBIT and our suppliers to make the DSL line stable, electrical interference from outside sources, the nature and quality of the connection at your location, network utilisation and the number of Customers accessing the network at any one time, your hardware or software and the websites that you visit.
CBIT’s ADSL only provides for one dynamic IP address. CBIT’s ADSL service does not support IPTV in any way. It does not support any IPTV protocols so if you wish to use CBIT’s ADSL for IPTV then this service is not suitable to you.
Information about Pricing
The maximum termination fee is $250 if any part of the service is terminated or transferred from CBIT during the 24 month contract term. All plan charges are GST inclusive, effective 1 July 2014 and apply 24 hours per day. Should the service become NBN enabled and we are required to transfer the service to the NBN network we may pass on any increase in costs to the customer, BUT only the increase in cost.
Prorated charges will apply when you join CBIT’s ADSL service the first invoice will be higher than the subsequent ones because it will contain the once-off fee for the modem and the postage and handling fee AND a charge for part of your first month’s service fee plus the full next month in advance.
